Best People

Programming is a talent, just like painting or dancing. This is why we've been uncompromising in selecting only the best talents for our development team. We have built a reputation for being the best place to work for talented developers, which has attracted the best and the brightest. Applicants go through a rigorous testing and interview process, to determine programming talent, passion for programming, as well as work ethic and leadership potential.

In the end only a tiny fraction of our highly-talented applicant pool is made an offer. We apply a similar process to find the best talents in project management, business analysis and web design.

Best Practices

Our junior developers each go through two months of extremely rigorous training, covering such topics as Object Oriented Design, GoF and Enterprise Design Patterns, Test-Driven Development, Java and Enterprise Best Practices, other Agile practices, and the various Java frameworks we use such as Spring, Hibernate, JSF, Struts 2, Seam and AppFuse.

Their training is punctuated with difficult machine problems, and public code reviews of the machine problems by our architects and senior engineers. After their training, they are overseen and mentored closely by our architects and senior engineers. This rigorous training and mentorship process ensures close adherence to our programming, design and process best practices, which in turn leads to very high quality. We religiously apply Agile Software Development (particularly Scum) practices and values in all our projects. We are strict such practices as TDD, Continuous Integration, Big Visible Charts, Stand-Up Meetings, Spring Planning and Retrospectives.

We apply the Extreme Programming values of Communication, Simplicity, Feedback and Courage in our individual work, in working with each other, and in working with our clients.

We do not look for just clients, but rather long-term partners. We prefer long-term relationships over mere transactions. We aim to provide the highest level of value in our services by carefully cultivating an understanding of your needs. We want you to feel at some point that we are just another member of your organization (albeit an overachieving member).
